Apple has fired an engineer after the employee's daughter posted a hands-on YouTube video of the iPhone X days ahead of its official release.
Brooke Amelia Peterson posted a video to her channel last week showing her on a guided tour of the Apple's California campus with her father, during which she films herself using Apple's unreleased iPhone X smartphone.
But days after posting the footage Peterson removed the video and released a new video statement claiming Apple had fired her father, saying they had "let him go" after her YouTube video went viral with millions of views.
In about 25 seconds of footage in the now removed five minute video blog, Peterson navigates the homescreen, demonstrates the phone's camera technology, uses Apple Pay, and shows off the new Animoji feature.
It also shows an employee-only QR code on the phone, while the video briefly shows the notes feature which could have contained further employee sensitive information.

Apple is known for its anti-leaking culture and most employees are under strict rules over filming on the company's campus, let alone filming an unreleased product.
"When you work for Apple it doesn't matter how good of a person you are," Peterson said in the video, "if you break a rule they just have no tolerance."
Peterson said she was not bitter over her father's sacking, saying he took full responsibility for an "innocent mistake".
Peterson's video has been deleted from her channel, which she says was taken down at Apple's request, although it is still available on other YouTube channels, showing her and her father visiting Apple's campus, giving a glimpse inside Apple's cafeteria Caffé Macs, where the pair enjoy pizza out of Apple's own specially designed pizza boxes.
The leak comes after iPhone X pre-orders opened on Friday, but most handsets issued to press and reviewers are held until a certain date before reviews can be published or posted online.
Apple has seen significant issues with leaks this year, including a major release of iPhone X details the day before its official launch.
