Samsung
is reportedly working on the next version of its home-grown Tizen OS. The
company is all set to introduce the third version of the operating system,
along with a new smartphone. Rumoured to be called Samsung Pride, the handset
will be the first to come with Tizen 3.0 out-of-the-box.
Any
other details about the unannounced handset aren't available right now.
However, it's quite likely that it will be a budget smartphone like previous
Tizen smartphones.
Last
year, Samsung launched its Tizen-based Z2 smartphone in India at a price of Rs
4,590. The handset comes bundled with a free Reliance Jio SIM and free 4G data
services (for a limited period, as per Jio's offer). The Z2 also includes My
Money Transfer app, which Samsung claims supports all major banks. Some of the
other pre-installed apps include Ola, Quikr and Facebook.
In
terms of specifications, Samsung Z2 sports a 4-inch WVGA display of 854x480
pixel resolution. It's powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB
of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, with support for microSD cards of up to
128GB in size.
For
imaging duties, the Samsung Z2 has a 5MP primary camera and a VGA (0.3MP)
front-facing snapper. It's backed by a 1,500mAh battery.
